Minimo: Mozilla’s new web browser.

minimo-a-thumb.JPG

Pocket PCs have browsers that give its users headaches. The screen resolution has been reduced to a miniscule scale that sometimes it’s impossible for a man of 40’s to read what’s written. From the developers of Mozilla Firefox, comes Minimo. It is an open source pocket PC browser and so you can “own” it by changing its look, feel and add extensions (just like it’s mother company). It is made with XML and Java so anyone who knows how to tweak HTML, can definitely do it too with Minimo.

The good thing about this software is, it doesn’t resize unlike other browsers. It’s made to operate as a web browser, and it does! No added frills that can make users dizzy of the interface.

Shapewriter for the Pocket PC

On-keyboards on Pocket-PC enabled phones and PDAs have been almost nearly unused because the keys are so small, and it’s become cumbersome and slow. Shapewriter’s going to change all of that:

ShapeWriter’s award winning technology elevates touch screen devices to new levels of usability. Instead of “hunting and pecking” letters, single gestures on a touch keyboard produce an entire word. For example: a stroke that roughly connects the w, o, r and d keys is recognized by ShapeWriter’s intelligent algorithms as the word “word”. Experienced users can write much faster on ShapeWriter than on a conventional keyboard. All ShapeWriter products run in real time on mobile devices and feature advanced editing, automatic formatting and capitalization, error tolerance, misspelling correction, and gesture commands.

Will this usher in the new age of the stylus?
